Hello All, Allow me to introduce myself as the new voice of One Thing Audio. My name is Simon Williams, I am the younger brother of Steve Williams and will be the new contact for all of your Quad Esl needs.

During this period of adjustment following the loss of Steve I have been busy trying to get the business back up and running as normal. Steve is a hard act to follow but I have been working with OTA for over a decade in the background providing new board designs, upgrade ideas and sourcing new suppliers etc.

My knowledge of HiFi may not be as in depth as Stevens, but I have been involved with the technical aspects of the Quad ESL range and have been looking at more new products to make your ESLs sing.

We have two superb engineers who have been taught by both Steve and Ron in the art of restoring these much loved speakers to better than ever performance.

There are several very exciting products that we are in the process of producing. These include, a stiffening kit for the ESL63, 988 and 989. It will add rigidity, weight and also allow the fitting of optional legs and a shelf to house monoblock amplifiers directly underneath the speaker.

We have in design a new treble panel for the B&W DM70 so we will be able to give a fixed repair cost for these units in future.

The longest project at present is an all new after market replacement for the ESL63 onwards panels. We can’t give too much away at the moment but once prototypes have been produced and they give the performance we think they will, it will be a very exciting time for owners of these speakers.

All of these things unfortunately take time even when not having to take care of Steves affairs, but stay tuned! There are surprises ahead.

Best regards and Happy listening to all

Simon
